Spanish
According to the US
Census, 1 in 5 US
residents speak a foreign language at home, even though most residents
speak English as well. In our
global economy, knowledge of other languages is an essential skill for
life. During the first six years
of life, the absorbent mind of children are able to learn a second
language more easily than at any other time in their life.
Young children derive special benefits from early second language
instruction, such as better pronunciation and heightened proficiency.
Research also indicates the benefits of foreign language programs
go beyond language acquisition, and may include an increased attention
span, reinforced listening skills, greater memory skills, creativity,
improved self-concept, improved native language development, a broadened
global awareness - and more!
Taught by a native Spanish-speaking teacher who is also fluent in
English, our Spanish Program involves periods on instruction,
interaction, and hands-on materials, suitable and enjoyable for even the
youngest of children.
