There is the innate curiosity and desire to learn waiting to ignite, the drive for independence ready to burst free, the hint of determination and willfulness eager to be tested. And all that vibrant character! Welcome, and thank you for your interest in New Horizon Montessori! Established in 2005’, we are a charming Montessori community designed for children fifteen months to six years of age. Dr. Maria Montessori’s educational vision and philosophy inspires us! We affirm that education begins at birth and are grounded in Montessori’s main tenet that children are intrinsically motivated to develop themselves. We believe that children carry with themselves the person he/she is to become. With patients and care, we strive to awaken and cultivate the natural gifts and potential all children carry within. Every day, Children at New Horizon Montessori experience unparalleled education of the whole child in a safe, nurturing and joyful learning environment. It is our belief that every child should have the opportunity to learn and grow in an environment where they are free to develop at their own pace with respect for each other and to acquire a true love of learning. Our children truly enjoy coming to our program, they love to learn and they love to find answers. Our skilled teachers seek to unfold, encourage and inspire, not to mold and construct. As Dr. Maria Montessori believed, it is our goal to “educate the human potential.” and we are guided by one of Montessori’s main observations which is “education is not what the teacher gives; education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the individual , and is acquired not by listening to words but experiences within the environment.” At New Horizon Montessori we know parents are a child’s first and most important teacher. We view parents as partners in the ongoing process of education and feel parent involvement crucial to a child‘s education. With meaningful communication, parental involvement opportunities, parent-teacher conferences and educational workshops, our mission is to build a solid bridge from home to school.
